The Smoo Cave Hotel is the ideal Basecamping location for Golfers to play 6 courses, see the scenery and relax. First Durness then each of the other 5 courses are all under 2 hours drive from the Smoo Cave Hotel. Something to consider.

Durness Golf Course is a nine hole course and with a second set of tees it plays like a traditional 18 holes, which can be enjoyed almost all year round from dawn to dusk.

The course is in a totally unique location with spectacular scenery and a constant closeness to nature.

If you are playing the Durness Golf Course you might consider an overnight stop-over at the Smoo Cave Hotel or dropping-in for some sustenance, refreshments, a snack or a hearty meal.

The Smoo Cave Hotel has a secure lockable shed to store your clubs overnight or whilst taking refreshments. We can also lend you a cloth to wipe  down the clubs or shoes should these need a clean, just ask one of our staff.

We encourage you to pay attention to the Outdoor Access Code and take the upmost care especially if you are venturing anywhere near sea cliffs or indeed when climbing a mountain.

If you are driving whether in a car, towing a caravan, in motorhome, in camper-van or on a motorbike or bicycle please pay attention and obey the Highway Code, road safety and vehicle rules. Equally remember to drive on the LEFT, keep your speed down and that you observe the 'single track road' etiquette of using passing places to let other vehicles pass and that groups of bicyclists do not bunch-up together too much, making passing impossible. Please also do not park in passing places nor obstruct roads and gates.
