Private Functions at Smoo Cave Hotel

Smoo Cave Hotel has two main function areas the Restaurant which also has a conservatory leading to an outside sitting area and the Bar, both are suitable for Private Functions.

We have previously hosted special occasions, from corporate events, weddings and wakes to smaller birthdays and anniversary celebrations and engagements to specialist and local exhibitions and festivals. As well as stag and hen parties and in the Bar we have hosted many live music gigs.

If you have a function in mind, please do get in touch to tell us the proposed dates and the sooner the better so as to ensure we have time to block-out accommodation, if necessary and the relevant function area. And also so we can inform our regular local customers, especially if the Bar is to be shut-off.

Smoo Cave Hotel can provide all the catering requirements in-house and can develop a special menu just for your function or you are very welcome to choice from our current menus. Take note, due to our remote location, we have to keep in mind planning with our suppliers; we will need to be informed, well in advance, of any dietary requirements or allergies.

Smoo Cave Hotel is fully licensed and all normal UK laws apply so consider if your function is expected to finisih up late, we might need to apply for a licence extension, not impossible to obtain just it can take some time.

The Bar already stocks a wide selection of beers, wines, whiskeys and gins as well as many other types of spirits and a variety of soft drink refreshments suitable for all ages. To name just a few, we stock local Orkney beers and ales, Old Pulteney and Clynelish whisky and Rock Rose and Misty Isle gins. If there is something particular that you would like at your function, with advanced warning and by arrangement only we can try our best to meet your special requirements.

In the bar, there is a juke box which plays the latest tunes and some oldies too, facilities to play darts, pool and a fruit machine and a large screen television should your function require.
